After installing the AMTU_unix.sh file from sellercentral, (2.0) I set my JAVA_HOME to point to /usr/local/jre1.6.0_23 and fired off the script "Amazon Merchant Transport Utility". I got a bunch of output ending in:

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (transport.syserror).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
Exception in thread "Thread-0" java.lang.NullPointerException

at com.amazon.merchants.transport.model.MainModel.prepareForShutdown(MainModel.java:300)
at com.amazon.merchants.transport.model.MainModel$1.run(MainModel.java:98)

Totally clueless as to what is supposed to happen.  Can somebody instruct me as to what I did wrong?

Basically, after installing the jre in /usr/local, I logged in as the user that has the shopper web site in it, and ran AMTU_unix.sh.  It created the AMTU directory and it's contents. The instructions for 2.0 don't really say how to launch this or what to expect.

I'm not even sure if this will run in a terminal session or if it requires X.

Any help appreciated.
