A new amphion client has been committed to
the CVS repository that provides web-based
control over an amphion server. Designed

Java server 1.0

There is now an Amphion server in 100% Java. It is multi-threaded, removing the bug in the C++ server of dying clients hanging the server. It has all the functionality of the C++ version, and should be more stable. It requires mpg123, or a player with the same "remote interface", and the "setvol" program or equivalent to change the volume. Check out the source from CVS (javaServer), and run make in the javaServer directory. Tested with JDK 1.3 _only_.... read more

Bug fixes, SyncClient

New version of the Python client available that fixes the bug with saving/loading playlists.

A new Java client, SyncClient, has been added - this client mirrors a playlist on one server to any number of others. This client has no user interface, and is run from the command line. See the README in javaClients for some more info.

New version

A new version of the server and clients is available. Amphion now includes a graphical Java client (using Swing/JDK 1.2). The database generation has been extended to allow for merging of multiple music archives, with some conflict resolution. The server and clients are now platform-independant, as byte-ordering issues have been dealt with.
