Hi Marisa, An automation object is a rapper for a particular program. You can see this in Microsoft office. Essentially, I can add a reference of a com automation object to dragon scripting and then use the methods and properties of that object to control a program remotely. In the case of AMIS, I could say something like "AMIS play" to start playing a book and "AMIS stop" to stop playing a book. I could say this from any point on my computer so, I do not necessarily have to swap to AMIS to control it. Pranav -----Original Message----- From: ami...@li... Hi Marisa, I need to get the name of the file that is currently playing. Many times, I would like to burn a set of files to my MP3 player. As of now, I have no Daisy compatible device so I cannot use existing Daisy navigation. All I want to do is listen to a particular section of a book while I am on the move. Hi, Does AMIS expose any automation objects? I am thinking about writing some Dragon Naturally Speaking macros to control AMIS from other applications. These would be handy in a situation where you were reading a book and wanted to make notes. So, you would be in a word processor and could then control AMIS by voice without switching to that application. Pranav |

Hi Merisa I suggest that ALL text that changes rappitly should be read out by TTS. Also all new changed text should be read out in TTS. This will give you time to refine AMIS. Hi, Would it make such a difference to re-record the full dialog (and nothing else in the application)? I know that the recording quality varies a bit because everything except the release date and version number was recorded a while ago. I don't have a studio in my house so consistency is hard to achieve. I was even thinking of switching to TTS to read out the version number and release date, since it will be difficult to get updates for each language pack (and then each one would have to be rebuild, re-released, re-announced... I would spend a week organizing it, just for two little phrases!). You're right, I have been able to reproduce this but only once! Maybe it has something to do with how the menu titles are being accessed - keyboard, mouse, or a combination. > > This one is 100% reproducible on my system with self voicing. > When we navigate to check boxes in preferences dialog, the status > prompt of > the check box is not announced. For instance the prompt "this item is > currently" is announced but nothing after that. Yep, I don't know why this is. It used to work. Let me check with our other developer. Would you mind filing bug reports for these two things? I can also do it, but I think it looks nice to have more names than just mine in the list of submitters :) Thanks Marisa |

Hi, Though this is not hundred % reproducible on my system but does happen 80 % of the time I use Amis. In self voicing mode, if we navigate to "play" and "Help" menu item in menu bar, then Amis does not announce them. This one is 100% reproducible on my system with self voicing. When we navigate to check boxes in preferences dialog, the status prompt of the check box is not announced. For instance the prompt "this item is currently" is announced but nothing after that. In self voicing it is important to have it announced. Thanks Mukesh Sharma |

Hi, Now the version information is announced but there is one small noticeable thing that the dialog content itself has two different voice pitch, though this is not a problem but just a note. I feel when ever the release is done the full dialog prompt should be recorded. This will solve the pitch problem and as observed it will reduce the gaps between the parts of the dialog prompts. You're right! I totally forgot to change that. I'll do it soon and post an update. For now, just pretend it says 2.6 :) Glad to hear it's working better for you. Though I'm not sure I fixed any highlight problems...what seems improved regarding this? Marisa On Jun 7, 2007, at 9:57 PM, Mayu Hamada wrote: > AMIS 2.6 is working more stable than former version. AMIS 2.6 is working more stable than former version. Also, thank you for fixing highlight problem and Japanese folder problem. It's great! I received inquiries about AMIS version information from other Japanese users. In the about AMIS dialogue, Version and Release date are not updated (still version 2.5) Help menu>About AMIS Can you update? With best regards, Mayu |

Hi, It's online at: http://amis.sf.net/download/sapi51redist.msi This is the same download site as the installer uses, so I don't know why it didn't work. Anyway, it will be fine if you install SAPI separately.
