#73 crashing with and without self-voicing

Three reports by a user:

First:
I took your advice and turned off the self voicing features in AMIS. This worked well until I started listening to the help file that comes with the program. I was able to go through the menus and dialogues without the program crashing, but it crashed when I started listening to the help file.

Second:
I've just tried to use AMIS again, this time I simply read the help file without navigating around it too much. AMIS read the file for several minutes, but then it eventually crashed.

Third:
I just turned self voicing back on, and yes, you guessed it, AMIS crashed 5 seconds after I reopened the preferences dialog after turning self voicing back on.
