I tend to keep gnome-mud running for weeks at a time, and I've noticed that as the scroll buffer gets longer and longer and longer, text scrolling slows down, as you'd expect. This is on a pretty new system, and I've seen a local lag of as much as a second before entered text prints to the window. I don't know if this is what the original poster is seeing. I did look at implementing a maximum line length for the window, but couldn't see an obvious way of doing so. With luck, GTK 2 will offer one. -v, still busy busy busy. |
