ffmpeg_video_decoder_datasource thinks it needs to drop almost all frames in a 120 fps mp4 video with messages such as:
16:46:03.389310 DEBUG ffmpeg_video_decoder_datasource.data_avail: drop frame ipts=3466667, before oldest_timestamp_wanted 3462667

On Linux VM this effect is dramatic, only ~40 out of 1261 frames are displayed,
on MacOS 10-20 times more. Maybe the machine is just too slow.
On all machines, other players such as cvls, ffplay, avplay, mplayer have no problem with the attached video, only AmbulantPlayer has.
The dropping is implemented to prevent 'bad user experience', but as it is now
it introduces 'bad user experience', especially since it can't be turned off.

Fixed in Changeset: 8955 as a side-effect of fixing #860-861 by Jack.
