Hi Gang! Happy New year! I had to unplug for a week or so, but I'm back :) I've looked over the plan and documentation for the upcoming redesign. In general, it looks good. Of course, I have a question too. Since we are defining an SQL like interface to the storage area, why not base the storage area on an SQL engine, such as mySQL, ORACLE, Informix, DB/2, etc. There are database interface modules for PERL, that would allow the underlying database to be a free choice of the user. Where no database standard exists mySQL could be used. Why reinvent the wheel? Creating a new aQL makes sense, since it is a different functionality from the data storage.
