Hi Guido, I just discovered a bug introduced in 2.2.1, which seems to be due to the modified envelope parameter layout (some of my patches didn't make sound anymore). (commit efd0701 ("Optimize layout of envelope view in config dialogs", 2023-02-04) Because the order of addition of control sliders via the addSlider() function has changed, it now mixes up some level and time values. You can check it by changing values in the envelope dialog / function display. Thank you for keeping the maintaining up for ams! Hi! I'm currently running AMS on a Raspberry PI3 as a midi controlled module. i've achieved a good setting with jack on latency and xruns and i'm ready to start testing it in a "live" situation. But... i found the following problem: i'm unable to open a .ams file from command line so if i run my raspberry without any display it wont open the .ams file and wont get it working. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance |

Hello Lately I done a little modification to module slew limiter. I think it works now similar to glide keyboard function in minimoog. For me slew limiter is more powerful now and adds interesting feature to various sounds. My feature not work for polyphony now. The main idea is to do portamento between notes IN THE SAME TIME (or near the same time). No matter it is done between C1 and D1 or C1 and C4 - the time is constant. (Originally slew time between C1 and D1 is short and slew time between C1 and C4 takes much longer time). In attachment is the source code of slew module from version 2.1.2 with my modification. It adds checkbox to the module slew limiter. If somebody is interested I can mark in the code exactly what was changed. I don't know that this constant time is worth for users. If developers wish, let it add do AMS in the next version. Rafal |

Hi Peter, > I've just downloaded ams-2.1.2 and am trying to install it on Xubuntu. > When I do ./configure I get the following error: > > checking for snd_pcm_open in -lasound... no > configure: error: asound is required Looks like you have not yet installed the ALSA headers package. Something like $ sudo apt-get install libasound2-dev should do the trick - but I am guessing there might be more -dev packages that you have not installed yet. Greetings, Frank PS: Guido, I guess the README could do with a small section like this: --- Required packages: ALSA JACK FFTW3 QT4 LADSPA liblo clalsadrv Depending on your Linux distribution, these have slightly different names. For Debian-based distributions like *Ubuntu, Mint etc you will need: libqt4-dev (not sure if this pulls in all necessary sub-packages of Qt4) libasound2-dev libjack-jackd2-dev libfftw3-dev ladspa-sdk liblo-dev libclalsadrv-dev --- |

Dear all, on behalf of the QMidiRoute development team, I'm pleased to announce the release of QMidiRoute 0.4.0. QMidiRoute is a MIDI event processor and router for the ALSA sequencer with a graphical interface based on the Qt toolkit. http://alsamodular.sourceforge.net/ This release fixes a few bugs and provides some minor feature improvements. All users should upgrade to 0.4.0. Please find source tarballs on the release page: https://sourceforge.net/projects/alsamodular/files/QMidiRoute/0.4.0/ NEWS ==== qmidiroute-0.4.0 (2016-01-24) Fixed Bugs o Fixed bug #3028929 (missing update for IndexOutMode when reading map file) New Features o Handler for SIGINT added to handle unsaved or changed files more carefully at program termination. o Handler for SIGUSR1 added to provide support for LADISH level 1. o Add configure option to use Qt5 instead of Qt4 library. Cheers Guido -- http://wie-im-flug.net/ http://www.lug-burghausen.org/ |

Hey Brian, There is a "slew limiter" module that goes between your control voltage source and your frequency input. Sometimes it's hard to get it to sound just right though. Hi all! I've been spending hours this summer "re-discovering" AMS and I'm loving it! Lots and lots of potential, and nice-sounding waveforms and filters! One question: how can I activate portamento? brian |

Hi. Can someone help me with a doubt, please? It's about the "Avoid parameter jumps" option. I don't know if I have understand it correctly. First, I'm working whit ams 2.1.1 on xubuntu 14.04_64. I run ams with jack (qjackctl) and I send midi from one Korg nano Kontrol, the first version. I have the first knob assigned to four different midi cc numbers (the nano kontrol have 4 scenes-presets for each knob, fader or button) and the first midi cc number from that knob to one parameter on ams, so when I turn it I can see the same on the ams parameter value. Imagine I change that first knob assigned to its first cc to the max value (127), in this case I can see the same value on the screen and later, from its second cc to the minimum value (0). The parameter on the screen is even showing 127 because now that first knob cc dont affect it. Thats right. But then If I change again to the first cc of that knob and I turn it, the midi value on the screen goes directly to 0 instead wait to receive 127 from the knob. Is that right? I thought that the "Avoid parameter jumps" options was for that. Am I wrong? Thanks! |
