#263 Unable to get AudigyRX to work

Discovered that motherboard (Asus X-470 Pro) has a sound chipset not compatible with Ubuntu 18.04 but apparently read Audigy Rx is compatible but no joy. Even after disabling HDMI and onboard sound in BIOS HD Intel Audio is claiming prirority calls over Audigy. If I run Alsa Mixer can't remember which interface of Alsa it was, I could see when using the system 'Test' for left and right are pressed the volume meter moves from left to right bu no output from speakers. Have tried blacklisting the HD Intel Audio (which surprised me as its an AMD Motheboard for Ryzen processor no joy. Running 64-bit LInux.
