azx driver setup
Brought to you by:

For the CMI 9880L chipset, the azx driver is the one I
have been advised to use. I have spent the last couple
of weeks trying to get it working. After boot, I use
rmmod to remove all snd and sound modules, then use:
modprobe snd-azx
modprobe snd-seq
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
modprobe snd-mixer-oss
When snd-azx is loaded I get a click in the speakers,
but as soon as I try anything with sound (Mixer, CD,
etc.) the system locks up tight and requires a reboot.
I've been looking for documentation on parameters that
might be required, and haven't been able to find any.
Any information about configuration for this chipset is
appreciated.

I got the same with the 1.0.6 driver but with 1.0.7 i get it to
work but the sound sucks... So is anything happening with
this drivers or what?
