Ah, I get it now. It's now that I've redefined the hw plugin, it's that I've redefined my virtual multi-channel device as hw. And there it was staring me in the face: pcm.multi { type multi; slaves.a.pcm "hw:0,0"; [...] } pcm.multi { type hw; card 0; } The second pcm.multi stanza redefines the device called multi using the hw plugin. invalidating the configuration statements in the first stanza. This was a typo in my adaptation from the example in the documentation. The second stanza should have been: ctl.multi { type hw; card 0; } Thanks for the help, and sorry it took me so long to absorb. :-) Ciao, Sheldon. |
