Hello, This might be a beginner's question, but I do not know where to start.... I am trying to move to ALSA from OSS, as I have just installed the 2.6.7-rc2 Linux kernel. My box has 3 sound cards in it (actually it is one card, one on-board chip and a TV-tuner card). /proc/asound/cards looks like this: 0 [Bt878 ]: Bt87x - Brooktree Bt878 Brooktree Bt878 at 0xdedff000, irq 17 1 [Live ]: EMU10K1 - Sound Blaster Live! Sound Blaster Live! (rev.10) at 0xe400, irq 19 2 [V8235 ]: VIA8233 - VIA 8235 VIA 8235 at 0xd000, irq 22 How will my system decide which card would be /dev/dsp ? I am using KDE with artsd. How will arts recognize my SB Live card (which I would like to use as primary, also I would like to use the OSS emulation as well since not all the programs are ALSA-aware). Thanking you in advance, Tamas |
