Hello, I have a problem with my ALSA sound. When I play sound in X windows it is terribly distorted at times. But when I play using the console, the playback is just fine. The kernel is 2.6.0-test9-mm2 on a VT8235 based motherboard (Epox EP-8K9A) with a Realtek ALC650 onboard soundcard. Removing the 'Option "pci_retry"' from XF86Config helps, but it's still not as good as from the command line. Also disabling PCI Delay Transaction makes a (small difference). I have also tried my 2.4.20-gentoo-r7 kernel and in this kernel the sound is good in X. I would however be very appreciative of any help you can give me as I would prefer to use the 2.6 kernel series. Thank you in advance, Arne Skjaerholt |
