Hi all, Maybe someone here can help me, I got a RH9 machine with alsa-0.9.4 and a RME Digi96/8 card. Everythingis working fine with SPDIF, but I'm unable to get ADAT working. When I do: aplay -c 8 -f S24_LE -r 44100 /dev/random It there is no error, it just seems 'playing', but there is no sound at all, there is a green licht on my AD/DA convertor, which looks quite happy (it turns of when I have an SPDIF signal on it), so there seems to be an ADAT signal. but no sound. in proc/asound: [root@quaffelwaus root]# cat /proc/asound/Digi968/rme96 RME Digi96/8 at 0xfc000000, irq 9 (index #1) General settings period size: 8192 bytes Input settings input: optical (8 channels) sample rate: 44100 Hz sample format: 24 bit Output settings output signal: normal playback sample rate: 44100 Hz sample format: 24 bit clock mode: slave format: IEC958 (consumer) emphasis: off non-audio (dolby): off So it recognizes the input signal (I've put the digi96/8 in slave mode) correct. The above info is taken during the aplay command, the output format says IEC958 in stead of ADAT. When I try to start jackd: [jeroen@quaffelwaus jeroen]$ jackstart --realtime --driver=alsa --device hw:0,1 -n 8 -r 44100 -p 256 jackd 0.72.4 JACK compiled with System V SHM support loading driver .. creating alsa driver ... hw:0,1|hw:0,1|256|8|44100|nomon|swmeter|rt ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1055:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D1c failed: Input/output error jackstart: pcm.c:687: snd_pcm_nonblock: Assertion `pcm' failed. received signal 6 during shutdown (ignored) The same with other n/p combinations which are supposed to work. Any ideas? Cheers, Jeroen. |
