Hello All I have a laptop with a sound system given by lspci as: 00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) The sound has always been okay. I recently switched to Kernel 3.4.4 from kernel 2.6.29.1, and now when I boot I get the message: /usr/sbin/alsactl: load_state:1608: No soundcards found... In both cases the code was compiled into the kernel rather than as modules. If I try something like "alsamixer" I get No such device but if I use OSS emulation the sound is okay. Anybody got any ideas? Regards Bruce -- Help support software freedom! http://www.fsf.org |
