Running Gentoo, but i ran into this problem under fedora and ubuntu as well.  basically, i have no sound, and i can't seem to configure alsa to produce any.  alsamixer runs, and detects my card, as does lspci.

lspci -vvv output:

lsmod|grep snd output:

alsa is configured from source, i built my kernel without alsa and then built it in later.

i've seen a lot of talk about the snd_hda_intel driver not working correctly, but i haven't seen any clear solutions.  perhaps someone here has experience with it?
