My Plantronics DSP500 USB headset gives me nice sound, but the only kind of sound I can get out of it is composite mono out both left and right speakers. A quick sound file creation using Audacity where I alternate audio between left and right tracks gives me each track on both speakers … not what should happen. running aplay on any stereo file with a different sound on each channel gives my a composite mono sound on both channels.
'speaker-test -Dhw:0,0 -c2 -twav' works correctly, i.e., it gived me correct separate channel output.
I disabled PulseAudio completely and I'm not running any other sound server… I'm just trying this on naked ALSA.
