SOX will stop recoding after about 20-30 seconds with a
snd_cs46xx ALSA driver, on an IBM ThinkPAD 570E.
This seems isolated to ALSA CS46xx driver, since when
I use the OSS driver "cs46xx.o", I can record for hours
without problem.
PROBLEM:
modprobe snd_cs46xx
sox -r 44100 -c1 -d /dev/dsp -t ossdsp test.wav
stops, randomly, without warning after about 30-40
seconds.
WORKAROUND:
modprobe cs_46xx
sox -r 44100 -c1 -d /dev/dsp -t ossdsp test.wav
works fine, BUT I loose nice ALSA features, like mic
boost, etc.
Tried latest release of ALSA and SOX, issue still
persists. Also tried loading snd_cs46xx driver with
"thinkpad" parameter, problem still persists.
"Thinkpad" switch is automatically detected by old OSS
cs_46xx driver.
Any ideas?
