When I open "Config > Preferences > Interface Prefs > Windows", I am trying to set my "Window Geometry" preference. The first problem is that [dialog::specialSet::geometry] is defined in both "dialogUtils.tcl" and "terminalAlphaPrefs.tcl". Given that the current version of "Terminal" automatically sources the second file during AlphaTcl's initialization even if the user has never turned on this package, I can't exactly tell why its version of the dialog procs is getting called on occasion, but they are. The second problem is that using [buttonAlert] with four buttons makes for a garbled dialog -- each button is too small to read the text contained in them. As far as the [buttonAlert] dialog goes, I tried to just blindly select the buttons that I cannot read. * First Button (supposed to read "Use Front Window Geometry") : I select this, and nothing seems to happen. I close the dialog by clicking "OK", and then test the geometry with a new untitled window. Nothing seems to have changed. I go back to the dialog, try again, click OK, and this time a new window appears named "Template Terminal Window". Thereafter, clicking on the "Set" button for this preference does nothing whatsoever -- no [buttonAlert]. Save files and restart Alpha. * Second Button (supposed to read "Open a New Window To Size") : If I click on this, a new window appears. It includes the line Click here to set the terminal window geometry when this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with "terminal windows". But then the [buttonAlert] appears again. Click on the same (second) button, and Alpha crashes. Restart Alpha, do it again, clicking on the second button but this time do _not_ click on the second button when the [buttonAlert] dialog reappears. Try pressing "Cancel". Now I see that the "Resize To Desired Geometry" window doesn't have any hyperlinks in it, so there is no "here" to click on. * Third button (supposed to read "Use Default") : What does this mean? Clicking on it changes the setting to "Default", but I have no idea what this does for me. In practice, it appears that nothing has actually changed. -- This e-mail has been sent to you by the Alpha-Bugzilla bugsystem (http://www.maths.mq.edu.au/~steffen/Alpha/bugzilla/) I am an automated system, please direct your replies or complaints to my maintainer <st...@ma...> |
