I updated to 9.0a11 and the second time I started AlphaCocoa, I got the following `serious' error:
"postguiRunAlphaTcl.tcl" error:
can't read "mode": no such variable
while executing
"set _mode $mode "
(procedure "hook::callAll" line 3)
invoked from within
"hook::callAll resumeHook"
(procedure "resumeHook" line 6)
invoked from within
"resumeHook"
any advice?
One other note. When I follow the instructions here http://alphacocoa.sourceforge.net/TNs/TN_001.html to rebuild the core, I get an error: can't find Tcl framework in build/Debug/AlphaCocoa.app
make: *** [core-update] Error 1
Hi Bob,
Did you manage to do the Developer Update described in the Technical Note? Also, did you change directories in the Terminal so that you are in the Current directory. Both stupid questions, I know, but it's always best to check the obvious stuff first. As an aside, what version of the OS are you using?
Cheers, Chris.

#74Hey Chris.
Not sure what you mean by the first question so the answer is that I probably did not.
Yes, I did change to current directory.

#74As explained on the AlphaCocoa-Devel list, this results from two untimely commits. The first issue reported (startup error) should be fixed by rebuilding the package indices. The second issue (related to the embedded Tcl framework's version) should be fixed by rebuilding this framework. I should have warned.
Anyway this is fixed in the forthcoming release (9.0a12).
