The command New LaTeX Document (whether invoked through the LaTeX menu or via the File menu (if the New Document feature is enabled)) produces a dialog box that allows one to specify various things to be inserted in the window to be opened (templates, documentclass options, etc.). Of these, the only insert that appears to work is the template. For example, specifying options as in Fig1.pdf results in a new document being created with contents as per Fig2.pdf.
And here is Fig2.pdf
Hi Chris,
I'm surprised, it works for me. I just tried from the LaTeX Document > New Document command and I do obtain:
\documentclass[a4paper,12point]{article}
as expected.
I entered the exact same string as shown in the attachment. Note that options can also be entered from the popup menu named Select options: any item selected in this popup is inserted automatically in the text field above.
I can't reproduce the problem. It works for me or there is something I'm missing.
Hi Bernard,
I downgraded to the most recent distributed version of 9.0a4 and now the problem has also vanished on my machine running 10.11.5. This ticket should be closed. Sorry for the noise.
Cheers, Chris.
