Sorry if this features already exists - I did not find it. When writing for long hours, many prefer to have a dark screen. In Alpha, there is a way to change the color of the interior of a window/file. But I did not find a way to change the colour of the frame around a window/file: the left column with the line numbers, the right one with the slider, the bottom bar and the top bar are always light grey, even in full screen mode.

Is there a way to make them dark as well, in the global preferences?

Firefox for Mac has a dark top bar, for example.

Sorry for the delayed answer. Currently this is not possible on systems older than 10.14. AFAIK, there is no support in Cocoa to set the title bar's and/or status bar's background color.
Your best bet is to switch to Mojave (OS X 10.14) and use the dark mode. See the attachment.
