Sylvain - Thank you very much for sharing this sad news. Bernard will be sorely missed. I greatly enjoyed the time I spent with Bernard in the "Alpha Cabal". I have fond memories of a spectacular lunch with him and Dominique on a visit to Paris many years ago. Bernard has been solely responsible for Alpha’s core development for many years. AlphaCocoa, in particular, is entirely his creation. I’m not sure that anybody that was not intimately familiar with the earlier incarnations of the Alpha source code can appreciate how monumental his effort was. Although I have not been active in Alpha development for a very long time, Bernard did graciously grant me admin rights to AlphaCocoa on SourceForge. If anybody in the community is interested in picking up maintenance of the project, I will be happy to facilitate. - Jon > On Oct 7, 2023, at 6:25 AM, Sylvain Loiseau <syl...@un...> wrote: > > Dear all, > > I’m very sad to have to inform you that Bernard passed away some month ago, after a long illness. I'm afraid it won't be easy to continue updating Alpha without him. I hope that a discussion will emerge and that competent people will be able to maintain Alpha. > > Best regards, > Sylvain > > > > _______________________________________________ > AlphaCocoa-devel mailing list > Alp...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alphacocoa-devel |
