[Alphacocoa-devel] ; = 41?

I'm using Alpha 9.0 (Vega) (7809). When I type a simple semicolon in TeX mode, I get '\"{o}' (a German umlaut 'o'), while shift-; yields '\"{O}'. Similar things happen with a left parenthesis and with right quotes. Maybe other keys as well. There is nothing in my system keyboard settings that would cause this, so far as I know, and I can't find anything in any alpha tcl help files. Help!
