Excellent suggestion but not easy to implement with the current spell checking mechanism. It will have to wait until the first final release of Alpha. Until then the code is considered frozen.

In a perfect world, the spelling would follow a \selectlanguage{french} \selectlanguage{britsh} command by switching spell checker - or is this already the case?
