Suppose you write some text, then move to another place in the document without editing further, and then press Undo.  The correct behaviour would be to have the last action undone, and having the insertion point moved to the spot that last action took place.

Instead Alpha performs the undo, but leaves the insertion point at the remote place. (In particular one does not see the action being undone, because since the insertion point is not moved, the window focus is not moved either.)
