Hi Giovanni, I just tested this behavior and it seems to work for me. This is what I did: * edited a tex file * typeset the file * edited the log file (the *Revert* item at this point is dimmed) * then switched to the tex file again and typeset it again * then switched to the log file: this time, the status bar displays the warning AND the *Revert* item is enabled. Could you give an exact sequence of actions where this behavior gets wrong ? The check for newer (or older) version of the file on disk is triggered each time a document window is activated. Hi Bernard. I realized my precedent description of the behavior of Alpha was not accurate. The sequence of actions is: edit a tex file typeset the file open the log file then switch to the tex file again and typeset it again then switch to the log file: the status bar displays the warning and the Revert item is DISABLED. But at this point if you switch to the tex file edit the tex file without saving it switch to the log file: the status bar displays the warning and the Revert item is ENABLED. I have Alpha 9.0.3d.1 (8338). Doing these tests I discovered another problem. edit a tex file typeset the file open the log file then switch to the tex file again and typeset it again then switch to the log file hit the Save Button and then Don't Save every menu of Alpha becomes disabled. Hi Giovanni, thanks for the recipe. This is the exact course of actions I had taken and I just tried again. In my case, in the end, the *Revert To Saved* item is enabled as expected. I can't reproduce the bug. The key proc here is *alpha::modifiedCheck* defined in alphaHooks.tcl. Is it possible that you have a redefinition thereof somewhere ? Hi Bernard. I realized that the menu item remains disabled only if I switch to the log file via keyboard. When I switch by clicking on the log window Revert To Saved is active. Additional fix: fixed missing savePostHook in method revertToContentsOfURL. The savePostHook is responsible for resetting the Modified flag in AlphaTcl.
