#54 1.1.0b1045 - online friends not shown

while connected people disappear to a point after few hours only one is left, doing a program restart and about 50 people are online.
this happens all the time.
this behavior is not new to this version, I have seen it in 1.1.0b1030 as well.

running on linux Fedora 11
jre-1.6.0_14-fcs.i586
