Microsoft even=20 started working on a version of windows for it, but dropped it soon after.= =20 After people started showing interest in AMD's x86-64 architecture, Intel=20 jumped on it. One notable company that's been attacted to the Opteron is Google :) They h= ave=20 stated they will not use the Itanium in thier clusters, to power hungry, ru= ns=20 too hot...
