The switch mechanism was invented because switching could not be disabled
on BeOS (otherwise, the default mechanism for switching may have been left
as the equivalent of SWITCH_NONE). Actually, I'm not sure if thats
exactly why it was invented, most likely it would have come up anyway, but
I know that it was created immediately after I ask what Allegro should do
when the OS switches out. SWITCH_NONE is not supported under BeOS because
its impossible to prevent the switch. Its also impossible in Windows
NT/2000 I think.
It should not crash however, and somebody should look at that -- sorry
that person is not me :(.
