I've just made AllChars v5 (alpha) available for downloading.
This is a testing version of AllChars; to be used at your own risk!
AllChars v5 is a fundamental rewrite from earlier versions of AllChars:
- v5 has been written using Microsoft's .NET Framework, you will need to have the .NET Framework Version 2.0 installed to be able to run AllChars v5
The configuration file format has been changed to XML, currently there is no provision to read .ini configuration files from older versions
Some features (like 'secret' macros) are still missing, some other features (like macros in general) are present but do not expose a user interface
The good news is: This version of AllChars should run under Windows Vista. For clerical reasons, I could not specifically verify this release; but older internal versions of v5 have been adapted specifically to support Vista.
AllChars v5 has only seen very limited testing so far, so do not be surprised if it does not work as expected.
Please submit bug reports or support requests for any problems you encounter, to help make AllChars v5 stable.
I'll follow up on this posting once I could verify Vista compatibility.

Allright, I've just checked notepad and IE7 under Vista; both composing and macros work as expected in v5.0.105 alpha.
