24.07 Release Note

Foreword

It's already two months since the last release, which is fast.

So this is this quarter's update. Maybe not much has changed since the last time?

And an important notice. After this release, the free version will no longer be distributed and will only be available on BOOTH from the next. We have to recover our development costs, so please understand. The paid version will be available from August onwards. Please wait for it.

Use of Alis Linux/GNU/X requires agreement to the EULA.

How To Install

If Alis has already been installed, there is no need to create new installation media and simply update it with nako -Syu or sudo pacman -Syu.

  1. Burn a disc image to a DVD or USB memory in DD mode and use it as installation media.

  2. Insert the installation media into the computer and start it up.

  3. The installer will open automatically, so follow the on-screen instructions to install the software into a fixed drive.

  4. After restarting, unmount the installation media and remove it from the computer.

How To Migrate

Alis is designed to allow migration from Arch-based distros such as Univalent that use systemd as init. Please follow the steps below to migrate.

sudo pacman -Syu
wget https://alislinux.github.io/migrate2alis.sh
sudo bash migrate2alis.sh

Note that it is not possible to migrate from distros such as non-Arch-based or that use an init system other than systemd. Install Alis from scratch.
