Hi Vinay,

1. You don't need a GUI.
2. Also you don't need API.
3. Just coding a simple class contains :
     - Function "public String[] search(String FileName) {..}".
4.http://algol.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/algol/algol/src/algol/StreamingSrv.java?revision=72&view=markup
   this an example for searching file (lines 224->284).
