Alfresco ECMS 1.2.1 now includes Enterprise Features

We are pleased to announce that Version 1.2.1 of the Alfresco Enterprise Content Management System has now made enterprise scale features open source. This means that enterprise-scale content management and deployment is now possible with a 100% open source content management platform.

Features that are now open source include:

* Enterprise security - support for groups and enterprise organizations

* Roles - role definition and control of content permissions

* NTLM Support - Support for Windows and Active Directory-based authentication and single sign-on

* LDAP Support - Authentication and directory service integration by LDAP servers

* Clustering - Ability to spread processing across multiple application servers and co-ordination through a transaction-safe distributed cache

* High availability - 24x7 support and uptime with fail-over to a synchronized, replicated hot standby server
