#40515 Search feedback

My ability to use sourceforge has taken a total
nosedive over the past few weeks/months since the
changeover to the DB2 backend. A site with so many
projects in it lives and dies by its search engine.
When 7 out of 10 times and more I get the dreaded
message "Our search servers are experiencing heavy load
- please try your search later" and this goes on for
hours, I have to go elsewhere and often there is no
elsewhere. This never happened before the DB2 cutover.
Maybe I'm aiming at the wrong change but I'll be
surprised if I am. I remember being surprised and
hoping you guys knew what you were doing when the
announcement was made for its adoption as its rep for
performance is not that great. And now I have to
wonder.. what if anything is being done to address this

    I know Search is frustrating.

The issue is we've grown too fast. We are in the process of
changing databases (to IBM's DB2) in the next 3 weeks which
    will fix the issue.

(I know the nav bar says we're running DB2 but we only are
    in a few places)

Already the new solution is working on our Mailing list
Archives...and it's quite fast and very scalable.

Hang in there. Our new solution will be online very soon.

    Director, SourceForge.net
