#132928 MediaWiki log-in doesn't stick - PHP session problem?

First Level Support

I'm using my SF hosted web page to host a MediaWiki site. I've just noticed on visiting the site for the first time in a while that my login to MediaWiki doesn't "stick." I log in, get the 'Login Successful' page, but then as soon as I navigate to another page the login is lost. This means I can't edit any pages, or do anything else that requires you to log in. I read somewhere that this might be something to do with where PHP saves the session data, but I'm not certain that this is the problem, nor do I know if I have any control over PHP on SF servers anyway. It's not a problem I've had with the site up until now. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this issue? At the moment, I can't do anything useful with it!

Thanks :)

...my apologies for being hasty; in the mean time I have worked out that I need to create a 'sessions' folder in the 'persistent' directory of the project groups home directory, change the permissions on the directory and then modify MediaWiki's LocalSettings.php to point at that directory.
    Cheers :)

In our Site Documentation (https://apps.sourceforge.net/trac/sitedocs/wiki) for Project Web (http://apps.sourceforge.net/trac/sitedocs/wiki/Project%20web), we note that you need to use the persistent directory for files that need to be written (our web servers are read only).

As an aside, I'm not sure if you are aware that we have added MediaWiki as a Hosted App for projects as well as for developers. You may want to look into that option as well.
