No

I wish to make a source-only, OS-independent release. I use Windows only. Presumably I need to create a .tgz file for Unix users. WinZip does not do this. Is there a utility that will convert a .zip file to Unix-compatible format?

    Greetings,

Zip is a fairly universal format in that anyone can use it, but if you really want to release a .tgz, 7-zip can do it:
