So, having gotten myself into this with a (perhaps ill-advised) bold  
declaration of support and checked AM out from CVS again...

Where should I start?

Which files should I be looking in for this, and can you give me a  
quick rundown of what (if anything) you *have* managed to decipher,  
so I don't have to reinvent the wheel?
