The document that talks about weak-linking also talks about other 
features you can use to be able to use some 10.2 features while 
skipping them and running without them on 10.1.x

Their ports seem to be doing well. And there's still things from the 
paper that I could potentially apply just in terms of overall API usage 
and the like.
