Alright, I'm no where near ready to check this in yet. But it's a 
lovely proof of concept at the moment. I managed to set things up to 
have the renderer write directly to the window's back buffer, followed 
by a QDFlushPortBuffer. *whistle* What a difference that makes. 
Unfortunately, I've broken Low-res mode in the process so I can't 
directly compare the two yet.

Software rendering mode, high-resolution, smooth FPS. (Marathon's max 
of 30 fps at most, but what the hey :))
