AlephModular is supposed to be, well, modular. I think it would be great if we could have a set of base definitions. (all the components of a map for instance) and then a bunch of high level modules that only depend upon the base definitions without depending on each other. For instance, game physics doesn't need rendering or a GUI. And rendering itself only cares about the current game state. (It doesn't need a GUI so much as a buffer to draw into) These high level modules are the ones that you be should be able to break off and put into another project. You should be able to compile one of these modules into a library that only depends on the base definitions.
