I can't create a public section. The field shows Administrator and Members, and there seems to be no way to make it empty.

It is not possible to me to reproduce this behavior, in Firefox 2.0 nor in Explorer 6.

The form to create sections is diplayed with a selection list with the member groups in the system, but it does not have any command to select some of them when loading the page. The entries in the list should come unmarked (unselected). If your browser by default is selecting some entry, please click on it with the ctrl key pressed, this will deselect the item, if not please let me know.

What browser are you using? I will test that page on Windows in a moment

To check what you said, I went to the Site structure and loaded the properties of the new "Articles" section, which I had unwillingly set to Private. The properties window showed Members selected, and I used Ctrl-click to unselect it. After submitting it, the Articles section then was listed as Private. So far, so good.

But I could not get Articles to show up in the top menu when no one is logged in! I cleared my browser's cache, including the cookies.

Then I created a new section, Articles2, with no scope selected. Sure enough, it got created as a Public section. But it also does not show up if a member is not logged in.

Screenshot of current site structure is attached as captured2.jpg.

Have the sections already some pages on them?. AldoContent hides the sections unless they have at least one page published, to avoid to send visitors to an empty site section.

To add a new page to a empty section, please go to the Site structure screen, open the section with a click on its name and in the "New menu" form diplayed, create the new page/menu entry. I know it is an inconvenience but I prefered this way to do it in visitors benefit, this procedire will be included in the upcoming users manual. The manual creation has been very slow because the English writing is very hard for me.

I will add a message to the New Section form, to advising the user about the procedure to make it visible. May be a page adverting the user about the empty section and the method for create a page. Thanks for your feedback. I had not noticed this situation before.

OK, thanks, Miguel, I think I'm starting to understand the procedure.

I think you have this instruction in the Starter Guide, but I was confused by the procedure of creating the menu item and then the article. It's clear now.
