I beg to differ. IMHO, the way kontact deals with it's components is the right way to do it, specially akregator. If all components are "fired up" at startup, probably the system will grind into a screatching halt, which isn't nice at all.

Yes...

This is what I call an implicit usability bug because I post it and then,
after thinking much about that I discover how to address it or it is said to
me through BTS.

I consider myself an advanced user (now I'm sarting to learn Qt4 for a
personal project) but many things sometimes pass undvised.

However I have blind faith in KDE because my last explicit usability bug was
incorpored in KDE 3.5 although I got a WONTSOLVE from Aaron Seigo (if I
remember well. It was about a "create new folder" button in konqueror's
folder selection dialog, you could rightclick but finally the button was
added).

Maybe a navigational help could be useful for this kind of things.

Well, you can always hide it manually as it's using QSplitter.
