When submitting forms I want the response to be placed in a target div. Which tag should I use to accomplish this ?
You should use prototype's Ajax.updater or jquery's equivalent.
You don't need any java library for that.

It seems that using Ajax.updater requires us to manually append all the request parameters, no ?
When submitting request I want all fields under form element to be appended automatically just like html submit because we don't want to add/remove fields when page content is modified.
You can serialize the form:
We can make new tag, e.g. `<ajax:submit target="divIdentifier"/>` This tag will render the form submit button, then serialize and send via AJAX form contents on button click, and place response into target element.
