I've been pushing that boulder (uphill) for a long time now, but you wouldn't believe the scrutiny any package undergoes before we have permission to distribute it. This is the reason nearly everything in the Toolbox is at least 2 years old. In the short term, I would recommend installing the older g++ 3.3.2 which worked better.
