[tbox-l] Compiling perl modules on AIX 5.3

I am running AIX 5.3 maintenance level 2 on a p5 695 LPAR.  I downloaded
and installed the AIX 5.3 gcc rpm.  When I try to compile any
perl(default system install version) module I get the following error
message (edited).

I've searched this list as well as the web.  Apart from compiling my own
perl I haven't seen any solutions.

P.S.

I thought I remembered previous versions of the AIX GNU Toolkit
re-writing header files on installation.  That may have been a very old
version of the toolkit.
