The ssl-enabled version of apache 1.3.31 is now available on the Toolbox 'cryptographic content' site. (The regular build, without ssl, is on the main AIX ftp site; see note below). This also means the corresponding mod_ssl module is updated, to version 2.8.19. These images can be found under the "Web Server Tools" group on the crypto web site, accessed via: http://www6.software.ibm.com/dl/aixtbx/aixtbx-p In addition, OpenSSL version 0.9.7d is now available at the same location. In fact, the apache update was built using this new openssl-0.9.7d image, so if you plan to install this apache you should also download the new openssl. The earlier openssl is still (for now) on the website, so be sure that you look for the one that specifically says 0.9.7d in the image name. The images appear under the "OpenSSL -- SSL Cryptographic Libraries" group header. The original note referencing updated apache: >There is a new update of Apache in the Toolbox, from 1.3.29 to 1.3.31. >Note that the Toolbox Apache is just the plain bare-bones HTTP server, >for basic usage. If you are interested in the Apache web server, I >also recommend checking into the IBM HTTP Server (IHS) product, which is >Apache-based with enhancements, and is also a free download, with >support available (unlike our 'as-is' apache). See: >http://www-306.ibm.com/software/webservers/httpservers/ > >For the updated AIX Toolbox apache (1.3-based), the new images are: >ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS/ppc/apache/apache-1.3.31-1.aix5.1.ppc.rpm >ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS/ppc/apache/apache-devel-1.3.31-1.aix5.1.ppc.rpm >ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS/ppc/apache/apache-manual-1.3.31-1.aix5.1.ppc.rpm > >An ssl-enabled copy of the same version will be available soon (with updated >mod_ssl) from the cryptographic-content site. (The newer OpenSSL 0.9.7d should >also appear at about the same time.) I'll send a separate note as soon as >these images are publicly downloadable. > |
