Hi, This sure looks like a similar problem i've had with ssh and rxvt. I opened a problem report with IBM, and got it fixed. the APAR is IY13902. It is an update to bos.rte.tty Check what level this is at on your box. The bug got introduced at sometime around bos.rte.tty level 4.3.3.16 and then fixed again at 4.3.3.27...
