When you build db, you need to configure with --enable-compat185. We have db (it's really db1) available as an RPM in the AIX Toolbox, and it is also installed as part of our rpm.rte installp image for 4.3.3. You have your own rpm then, and not the version from the AIX toolbox? Marc (P.S.
