[tbox-l] emacs 21.3-1 crashes on startup on AIX 5300-08-03-0831

  I obtained emacs 21.3-1 from the IBM AIX Toolbox for Linux web page, tryng 
to run it on AIX 5300-08-03-0831

Illegal instruction (core dumped)

I also downloaded emacs 22.1 from gnu.org and compiled it, same result.

This was working for years, and still works on several other AIX 5300-08 
systems.  Any help would be appreciated.
